Why Snow Globes?
While working at MIT on the Ray and Maria Stata Center I had a couple of snow globes displayed on my desk - one from San Francisco that I purchased while visiting Fisherman’s Wharf and another that a friend gave me from Provincetown featuring a mermaid. I became fascinated by these small representations of culture and place. The Stata Center project required the team members and me to travel and as a result this small collection started to grow. In addition, my wife Felice and other friends of mine that knew about the budding collection would take pride in helping me build the collection whenever they would travel.
These snow globes all represent various places and cultures, however to me they also represent the friends that brought these back from their travels. I am happy to share them here on this website with the hope of sharing the smiles that these have brought me.
Enjoy!
David
