Fact: Given the task of making a newly acquired business and their property more efficient, map-lab worked closely with the owner to create a greater sense of community by better organizing departments, while at the same time searching for opportunities for expansion.
After acquiring a company located in three buildings and on land with room for expansion, Millipore retained map-lab to review the property. Through interviews with the research and development, manufacturing, and services laboratory directors, map-lab gained a thorough understanding of the different departments’ immediate and projected needs and was able to determine strategies for future growth on the existing site.
map-lab developed a scope of work for the immediate projects, providing multiple schemes in the form of a comprehensive master plan to the laboratory directors for their review and approval. After reviewing all of the building systems, map-lab was able to identify deficiencies that would need to be addressed during upcoming projects. This analysis allowed Millipore to understand its full potential for future growth and provided the company with reasonable cost and schedule estimates to assist in future facility planning.
