#1 WE LOVE A CHALLENGE Got constraints? Great. We get a specific thrill from solving really tricky problems. If someone tells us it can't be done, or they have no idea how it can be done, it's like dangling a hambone in front of a hound dog.

    #2 BE RESPONSIBLE,

BUT NEVER BE DULL One of the best compliments we get is that we're responsible. Not responsible as in "boring," but responsible as in "this-is-a-big-deal-and-we-take-it-seriously." Not to scare you, but the outcome of our work will affect the people who use the building every single day -- and we act accordingly.

#3 DESIGN FOR THE LONG RUN The buzz is all about sustainability these days -- and that's a good thing. We don't need more buildings that are the architectural equivalent of junk-food.

#4 PROGRESS IS NOT PROPRIETARY Progress happens when we're not satisfied. The key is to stop whining and go straight to solutions.

#5 GOOD EARS MAKE GOOD TOOLS We have a rule of thumb for life: Listen twice as much as you talk. Being a good listener is one of the most important skills we bring to the table.

#6 BUILDINGS ARE FOR PEOPLE What we mean is: Is it good for people? Will it last? Would we like to spend our lives here?

#7 ARCHITECTURE MATTERS We confess: we're archigeeks. We teach architecture because it's the best kind of sharing--we get back more than we give. We practice architecture because we have an insatiable love of finding new solutions. We're just wired this way.
