David began practicing architecture in 1992 while earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Boston Architectural College.  After working for local area design firms, he went on to work at MIT as an in-house architect, and later as part of the project management team overseeing the design and construction of MIT’s 720,000 square foot Stata Center.

This particular combination of experiences helped to shape David’s perspective on what it takes to create good design, and he founded map-lab in 2004 to do just that – as either project manager, architect, or planner, depending on the needs of a particular project.  David’s mission has always been to provide beautiful, thoughtful design that responds to a client’s needs, and it is his experience working in different project roles that enables him to find the best design solution for clients.

David is active in the design community as an educator, and serves as Design Studio Instructor, Studio Critic, and Thesis Committee Representative at the Boston Architectural College, where he also serves as President of the Alumni Association.  In the past, David has served as a design critic at Roger Williams University and Wentworth Institute of Technology.  He has also enjoyed reaching out to high school students at the Boston Latin Academy, where he helped to educate them about architecture as part of the CityBuild program.
